    Job Summary

    Monat Global, is seeking to add a Financial Controller USA to their rapidly growing organization.  This role plans and directs the accounting operations of Monat USA reporting directly to the Global Corporate Controller and Chief Accounting Officer. The financial controller position is accountable for the accounting operations of Monat USA, to include the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company's reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles (US GAAP).

    The financial controller works closely together with the commercial and operational teams, serving as the main link between the different sources of information and the relevant business stakeholders, providing them with a rigorous, analytical financial statement review performed at each business/country level. Continuous improvement of financial reporting processes will be crucial in the role.

    The financial controller will be accountable for providing timely and relevant financial reports as well as the overall P&L. Will be responsible for financial statement assurance and will perform a first line of defense within Monat’s control framework.

    Responsibilities

    • Hands-on management of the General Ledger and Month-end accounting close process;
    • Lead the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in addition to financial/operational reporting;
    • Identify continuous improvement areas within finance and participate in continuous improvement projects.
    • Responsible for the preparation of regular monthly reports of corporate finance, statutory purposes and local management;
    • Accountable for the outcomes of all accounting and financial reporting activities for Monat USA;
    • Review balance sheet accounts reconciliation on a monthly basis;
    • Accountable for US GAAP reporting for Monat USA;
    • Manage the annual statutory audit for Monat USA;
    • Monitor relevance and accuracy of the different sources of information;

     

    Transactions

    • Ensure that accounts payable are paid in a timely manner
    • Ensure that all reasonable discounts are taken on accounts payable
    • Ensure that accounts receivable are collected promptly
    • Process payroll in a timely manner
    • Ensure that periodic bank reconciliations are completed
    • Ensure that required debt payments are made on a timely basis
    • Maintain the chart of accounts
    • Maintain an orderly accounting filing system
    • Maintain a system of controls over accounting transactions

     

    Reporting

    • Issue timely and complete financial statements for Monat USA
    • Calculate and issue financial and operating metrics
    • Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts
    • Calculate variances from the budget and report significant issues to management
    • Provide for a system of management cost reports

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting
    • MBA preferred
    • 7-10 years of Accounting experience and Financial Control experience
    • Proven experience with US GAAP reporting
    • Proven experience with new BI tools, such as Power BI or Tableau
    • Proven ability to understand key business drivers and how to translate these into meaningful reporting
    • Demonstrated ability to operate in a culture of continuous improvement, process optimization, and intellectual curiosity
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
    • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
    • Demonstrated change agility
    • Demonstrated flexibility and ability to deal with ambiguity
    • Understanding and experience working with SAP
