Job Summary

The Sr. Product Development Manager is responsible for delivering and managing portions of MONAT Global’s global product portfolio from concept to delivery. The role will oversee the product development functions, ensuring cross-functional collaboration across Product Development, R&D, Marketing, Quality, Regulatory, and Operations to ensure the delivery of successful, qualitative products on time. Acts as a champion for the new launch programs on a global level, ensuring the product pipeline successfully meets the high growth/high revenue objectives of these product launches and the company. Measures progress against objectives and goals, analyzes and implements strategic and/or tactical plans for different challenging and complex situations from both a qualitative and quantitative perspective. Establishes and drives the Product Development work plans and objectives, championing the management of the external labs, manufacturers, as well as internal cross functional teams to meet key milestones and launch products on time to meet the organizational objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Spearheads new product launch campaigns, as well as reformulations on a global level from creation of Product Briefs that align with organizational objectives, to delivery to ensure timely, qualitative and successful product launches.
  • Recommend new products and reformulations based on market and consumer trends.
  • Conduct research to build a business case for product portfolio.
  • Establishes and drives product development work plans, timelines and objectives and tracks, presents out on, measures progress and makes sure that key milestones are met through internal cross functional collaborations and external labs and manufacturer management.
  • Establishes benchmarks, works closely with R&D and external labs to deliver on products objectives, understand issues, trends, technologies and reviews product submissions, proving feedback/direction/redirects, establishing user testing, and approves initial formulas.
  • Ensures each formula remains in budget while delivering on key positioning and claims. 
  • Works cross functionally with Product Engineers, Clinical Development, Quality and Regulatory to ensure products are safe, qualitative and effective to meet business objectives.
  • Works with Quality on developing testing protocols per product, reviewing new batches (including reviewing specifications, aesthetics, MSDS, quality, QA/QC and all product associated documentation.)
  • Works with Regulatory and Legal for formula reviews, global registration, regulatory restrictions and strategies per markets.
  • Stays in-the-know of global market trends, competitive landscape, and industry news.
  • Partners with Marketing in early stage product concept, identifying opportunities, establishing differentiation, product brainstorming and answering customer, product, packaging or regulatory issues.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field is preferred
  • 5-7 years of experience in beauty related product development in a corporate environment
  • General understanding of the hair care products and personal care products,
  • General understanding of product development process with respect to marketing technical and production
  • Previous MLM/Network Marketing experience preferred
  • Must be a proficient writer and possess excellent organizational skills
